GOOD FRIDAY NIGHT WALK
“Lift Up” on Good Friday—a pilgrimage of faith, reflection, and hope.
WHAT WAS IT?
Good Friday Night Walk: A Journey of Reflection & Hope
On Good Friday, families and young people were invited to walk together in the spirit of a pilgrimage, inspired by the 2025 Jubilee Year—Pilgrims of Hope. This journey offered an opportunity to step away from the everyday, reflect, and embrace renewal, trust, and transformation.
The Good Friday Night Walk became a meaningful way to connect with the Easter story, with one another, and with the deeper themes of resilience, forgiveness, and hope. Together, we walked from The Monastery in Urrbrae to St Francis Xavier Cathedral in the CBD, stopping at St Raphael’s, Parkside for moments of reflection along the way.

The walk covered approximately 6.5 km in total, and we expected it to take around 2 hours of walking time. However, we broke the journey down into two stretches across the evening to allow for reflection, rest, and stops along the way. This made it a comfortable pace for everyone to enjoy the experience!
